This past weekend was quite revitalizing for me. I’m so happy to have gotten to spend the time with my family as I did at my cousin’s wedding and am sooo happy for her. It as just great being with all my cousins again. I know I am not as close to them as I would like to be, especially because of language barriers, but regardless, the love and warmth is impeccable and so grand. Especially that of my little cousins. I’m sure we all have these, and they are sooo easy to love because their spirit and behavior is so pure. I remember when I wasn’t even sure if I was going to show up to the wedding, my little cousin that’s 10 messages me on facebook (yes she has a facebook), asking me if I’m going, asking me soo wholeheartedly to go just because she wants to see me. that on it’s own was enough to convince me, even if I was already gonna go. And when I see her and the rest of them and then always wanting me to play their little games (of course i’m gonna join), and they tell you they miss u, n it hit me just like wow. I know I haven’t spent much time with them and for some reason it really surprised me when they said that. At first, i was thinking, do they even really know what it means to miss something, but then i thought of how skewed that perception is. you don’t have to be around someone for very long to make an impact or impression in order for them to miss you, or them or whatever. so back to being stunned on her saying that, it just made me think as to why can’t we just be as simplistic as a child as to coming to say how we feel, just something as to so simple as that and knowing full well it came from the heart, lifted my spirits even higher. it even brought me back to thinking to the night before at usc’s rush party, how one of the bros from ucla commented that being around me, instantly puts him in a good mood, that he wants to jump around, and so on. at first i didn’t know how to react, other than, “you’re crazy” but he did mean it with all sincerity and thinking about it again brought joy to my heart knowing that in just with being peaceful in my presence actually does bring joy to others. and even though i dont know this bro that well, knowing that he is comfortable with me in that fashion and that i can bring him good company is something to look forward to in life. as i was leaving my cousin’s wedding to make my surprise appearance at IB, my lil cousins begging me to stay longer, i was heartbroken in having to leave them, and they made me promise them i’d post our pictures after they hugged me multiple times. kids are so great, and i’m sure we all have them in our lives and they are truly a blessing.
At IB, kinda felt like i walked in at the wrong time, but i am glad to have seen so much love, and it was ridiculous how everytime i saw someone i get the “WTF” reaction for a good couple minutes haha. but i am glad to have come to the little bit that i did, and was great to see everyone so close. i kno i wish i could have gone to whole thing, but i do not regret my decision. and just by seeing everyone’s reaction of just showing up does show how much i do love these people, even those that i know the least. i always feel like i have so much more to write, but this is all i got so far.
If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can blossom like a flower. Then everyone in our family, in our entire society can benefit from our peace.
